Feeds Fixed

by Brent on September 23, 2009

Hey guys, a couple people reported weird behavior from the Feedburner/email sending functionality in the past couple days. We looked into it…first we thought it might have been related to an upgrade to our Wordpress install, but we figured out it was something with trailing white space, an XML file, blah blah, but Tibet and Grant did such and such to the PHP thingy, so it should be fixed. Let us know if you see anything else weird!

Publicity before selection?

by carrotmobdurango on September 18, 2009

In Durango here, also organizing for October 24th. We are beginning to accept bids already, and getting ready to put the publicity in high gear.

We noticed that in the organizer docs, step 5 is set up publicity, before recruiting and selecting the business partner. It’s obvious what we publicize after selection, but what comes before? If we don’t have a location or time yet, what exactly are we publicizing? What’s our goal with that?

Thanks in advance! Very excited to be getting this off the ground!

Getting a signed MOU?

by chadmobster on September 8, 2009

Hey all,

Down here on the central coast of California in San Luis Obispo. We are planning our MOB on October 24th as part of 350.

We are currently recieving bids and are wondering once we recieve our final bid if we should create some sort of contract or memorandum of understanding with the business owner to ensure transparency of how much they made during the 3 or 4 hours and that they will in a timely fashion implement the energy effeciency measures. We don’t want it to be an official  contract, but at the same time we want to ensure that they live up to there promise. Are we crazy? Ideas? Has anyone else done anything like this?

Many thanks,

Chad

Carrotmobbing a restaurant???

by jbird2 on August 7, 2009

Hello friends!

To any organizers who did a carrotmob in a restaurant: Did the issue of restaurants having small profit margins ever cause problems?

For my area it seems it’d work to use restaurants since there are several that could competitively bid, but would low profit margins outweigh the benefit of this competition?

Thanks!

Welcome to the Council

by susanna on July 29, 2009

Hey Gang!

You’ve been invited here to discuss things you’ve learned in the process, ask questions of the sage elders, and generally connect with your fellow organizers the whole world over! We hope you’ll visit often and post interesting discussions about Carrotmob.

The format we’d like to follow is that each blog post should represent a new question or tip. The comments should be relevant to that question or tip. Also, we’ve compiled the following tags, so please use them and if we’ve missed a tag, go ahead and add it. But please, tag your posts. That way, people can search by clicking on a tag to see posts on that topic.

Thanks so much!!!
